There is an album version available here from the album “After the Fire“.
I’m happy to announce that I’ll be playing music with my talented friends Tariqh Akoni and Michelle Beauchesne at Soho Restaurant in Santa Barbara — January 3, 2017 – 8:30pm.
Recently I produced this single for Jason Campbell called “You Can’t Have My Soul”. The idea was to go to a place he hasn’t gone before stylistically. Typically Jason performs live singing and playing his acoustic guitar with his backup band. We decided to take a left turn and feature Jason’s bass playing and vocals, and go for an electronic groove vibe in the vein of Thievery Corporation or Hotel Costes, but with a bit more of Jason’s live drive and energy.
It would be cool to hear a full length album like this!

The Musicians are:
Jon Lawton
Cello: Michelle Beauchesne. Guitar: Sean McCue. Written by John Barry, from the Somewhere in Time – Soundtrack.
Last night I learned, interpreted and spontaneously recorded this little instrumental called “Somewhere in Time” for a special occasion I was asked to play this weekend. This is a live duet with Michelle Beauchesne playing her cello, while I’m outlining the chords on my acoustic guitar. I like the atmosphere of the live stereo recording, so thought I would share.

For the audio geeks (like me): I placed an Avantone CK-40 Stereo Multi-Pattern FET Microphone a few feet away in my studio with both capsules set to cardioid in X/Y with the low-cut ON, and ran the signal through a Grace 801 preamp and into Logic Pro.
I’ll be in Switzerland for two weeks—YAY!
